    The Administrative Assistant will perform administrative duties including answering phones, greeting persons served and data entry.


    The C.O.P.E Center (Community Outreach, Prevention and Education Center) provides HIV outreach, education, counseling, and testing to individuals at highest risk for HIV and opiate overdose including injection drug users and their sexual and drug-using partners, sex industry workers, gay and bisexual men, transgender individuals, and other populations disproportionately affected by HIV/AIDS.


    Must have a high school diploma or GED with proficiency in Microsoft Office products and organizational skills.  Experience working directly with HIV/AIDS population and experience working with substance abuse/addictions desired.  Bi-lingual in English, Portuguese, Cape Verdean Creole and/or Haitian Creole desired. Must have a valid driver's license in state of residence and own means of transportation.

    1. Perform administrative duties including answering phones and greeting persons served in a pleasant and professional manner.
    2. Enter client demographics and utilizations into MDPH CareWare Database on a monthly basis.
    3. Enter syringe access registration forms and daily needle exchange records into designated MDPH excel spreadsheet on a daily basis.
    4. Enter OEND enrollment and refill forms into the Redcap program on a daily basis.
    5. Maintain office files.
    6. Attend various meetings record and distribute minutes as needed.
    7. Maintain office supply inventory including ordering of supplies.
    8. Maintain client mailing list and assist in development and distribution of client newsletter and/or monthly mailings.
    9. Operate office machinery such as computer, photocopier, fax etc.
    10. Assist in program activities as needed.
    11. Maintain personnel and client information in strict confidence.
    12. Perform duties consistent with agency/program policies and procedures.
    13. Execute duties to reflect reasonable safety standards. Universal/standard precautions must be utilized and training obtained in areas that constitute risk

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • Experience working directly with HIV/AIDS population strongly desired.
    • Experience working with substance abuse/addictions desired.
    • Bi-lingual in English, Portuguese, Cape Verdean and/or Haitian Creole desired.
    • Experience with medical and/or social translation strongly desired.
    • Ability to work both independently and as a team required.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
    • Excellent organizational skills required.
    • Ability to proficiently use Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point required.
    • Must have valid driver’s license and have own means of transportation.
    • Familiarity with Greater Brockton Community desired.
    • Must have the ability to move items weighing up to 40 lbs from floor level to approximately 4 feet above floor level.
    • Must be able to ascend and descend staircases while moving items weighing up to 20 lbs.
    • The manual dexterity and visual acuity to promptly and effectively complete keyboarding tasks on a personal computer, and to effectively use the telephone system and other office equipment.
    • The ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods and to lift up to 10 pounds from floor level to approximately three feet above floor level.
