    The Therapeutic Counselor  will provide individualized and flexible services to children with complex mental health needs. These services are designed to enhance the youths individual strengths and skills, provide support, and facilitate their overall growth and independence. Actively participate in therapeutic activities and educational support as indicated on individual treatment Plans, on a day-to-day basis. BASE is a therapeutic after-school program committed to enhancing the social, behavioral and emotional skills of children, ages 6-12, who present with serious behavioral challenges and mental health needs.


    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
    • At least one year experience working with school-age children with emotional/learning impairments.
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license in state of residence.

    1.    Promote socialization skills, self-awareness, and educational development with emphasis on community integration.
    2.    Perform supplemental administrative duties as assigned by supervisor or designee.
    3.    Assist in the development and implementation of Program-Specific Treatment Plans.
    4.    Transport consumers to and from scheduled activities.
    5.    Work with staff and consumers to ensure quality of care within the program.
    6.    Ensure consumer and family involvement and assist the Program Director in monitoring consumers’ clinical issues and developments to ensure continuity and safety.
    7.    Plan program activities as assigned.
    8.    Participate in program development as part of the treatment team.
    9.    Perform duties to reflect agency policy and procedures.
    10.    Execute duties to reflect reasonable safety standards. Standard/universal precautions must be utilized and training obtained in areas that constitute risk.
    11.    Perform other related work duties as needed or as assigned by supervisor or designee.
